Those were the days when Dairy Queen was too cool to even think of hot treats. They appealed to kids with a long-running campaign featuring Dennis the Menace and a song written by Bob Larranaga and Dale Menten. A Scrumpdillyishus Day was to become the advertising hit of the 70s
at least thats what Peter and Craig Norback thought when they put the song in lead position in their Great Songs of Madison Avenue. The actually made it all the way to Hollywood, where the Curbstone Singers (The Osmonds children) covered the song, backed with another Menten/ Larranaga song, Sweet Tooth. (Truth be known, the Edith Norberg Singers of Minneapolis did the singing and the Osmonds took the credit.)
